Livet er for tiden som et hurtigtog. Den suser av gårde i 120 km/h. Helt vilt med andre ord. Hva jeg har gjort? La meg se...

Jeg har brukt MYE tid på oppussing av min "gamle leilighet" for den skal selges. Fordi? Jo, fordi jeg har flytta sammen min elskede :) Jippii!!! Denne oppussingen har kostet både fysisk og mentalt siden vi har holt på fra grytidlig til sent på natten hver kveld når vi har hatt "fri". Men! Kan vel trøste meg med at vi begynner å se enden på galskapen. Yes!!

Summa summarium så har jeg ikke hatt noe tid til håndarbeid. Ikke strikket en eneste maske på genseren til gutten. Men jeg har faktisk "strikket" litt da. Min stedatter på 10,5 har begynt å strikke på et lappeteppe, så da har det blitt til at jeg har lagt opp noen masker og felt av for henne. Teppet blir strikket av Eskimo fra Garnstudio, så det er heldigvis en relativt "kjapp" prosjekt.

Ellers så hadde vi faktisk en liten før julsverksted. Samboer fylte nemlig år på søndag den 23. oktober, så da ble det først litt produksjon av kort og gaver og etter hvert også litt julegaver. Det ble mange flotte gaver. Kjære familie, gled dere!! :-D

Life is like a high speed train for the time being. It's speed 120 km pr hour. Shortly said, crazy! What have I done? Let me see...

I've used LOADS of time on renovating my old place because I'm planning to sell it. Why? 'Cause I've moved in with my beloved SO :) Jippii!!! This renovation has cost me quite some both mentally and physically as we've spent all our evenings off working on the apartment. BUT! I can comfort myself with the knowledge that we're not far from reaching our goal. Yes!

Long story short, I haven't had much time for handicraft. Haven't knitted a single stitch of the pullover that I'm making for my son. But I have managed to "knit" a little. My darling stepdaughter (aged 10,5) has started to knit a blanket of squares (14x14 cm) so I have cast on and off for her. This blanket is knitted of Eskimo yarn by Garnstudio so it's a relatively "quick" project.

We've also had a pre-Christmas workshop. My SO had his birthday on Sunday 23rd of October, so we produced some cards and gifts for him + a few gifts for Christmas. Family, you have something to look forward :-D

Plum jam and some knitting :)

På lørdag så bestemte jeg meg for å koke litt plommesyltetøy. Så tenkt, så gjort. Det var en veldig koselig prosess helt fram til jeg oppdaget at hendene mine var full av småkutt etter fjerning av stein. Ouch! Det er som å ha masse papirkutt :-| MEN! Det må jo sies at det var verdt det når sønnen på ti elsker sluttproduktet! :-)

Here's the jam in the makin

I decided to cook some plum jam on Saturday. I was very much enjoying myself until I suddenly realized that my hands were full of small cuts from removing the stones :-| Ouch! Their like small papercuts!! BUT! It's all worth it when my son (age 10) loved the end product! :-)

Jeg har også strikket litt mer på genseren til gutten og har gjort en del fremgang til tross for litt sykdom. Er straks kommet så langt at jeg kan felle av for ermhull. Yes!

I've also knitted some more on the pullover for my son and made quite some progress even though I've been ill. Not many more cm to knit until I can start decreasing for the armpits. Yes!

Projects from the past

This cardigan is knitted after a pattern from Sandnesgarn "Mix Barn nr.0902". I chose a white/gold "Alfa" yarn. It gave a very nice touch of glamour to this simple cardigan.

The babyblanket in this picture is knitted to a very special little princess. It's my brothers firstborn! I didn't feel like knitting a babyblanket with ordinary colour and pattern. After all, there was a special littlegirl that was on her way to this world. I decided to knit a round babyblanket and what better to use then a knitted lace tablecloth. It turned out beautiful. I'll have to find a better picture of the pattern in the blanket. Until then, enjoy the picture of the sleeping princess.

About a year later my brother called me up to tell me they were expecting again! I startet looking for a new babyblanket pattern that was special. In the end I found a babyblanket in the Sandnesgarn "Babytepper og hentesett nr. 24" that was worthy of a prince. I went for a beautiful shade of blue and used Baby Merino yarn by Garnstudio.

These are few of the things I've made in the past. There still more to come :)

For The time being I'm working on a lovely pullover from Sandnesgarn. I'll be posting a picture of work in progress as soon as there is some daylight.

We have a few visitors in our garden

There is a little squirrel in our garden during every august. I guess it has a lot to do with the hazelnuttree in our garden.

I've been so fortunate as to capture a few pictures of the little fellow (even though he's given me a hard time while doing so) :)

This year we also have a visitor that we've never seen before - a nutcracker!

Never a dull moment in the garden :)

A friend og mine asked me the other day: "Why did you stop blogging?"
My respons? Well, I didn't really have a good one.....

She did urge me to start blogging again and non the least, she wanted me to blogg in norwegian....

Hmm... That! my friends, is a dilemma for me. If I right in english, both my norwegian, estonian and english speaking friends and family understand everything written on this blogg (no matter how bad my grammar might be)... Maybe I'll have to do as so many others and start blogging in to languages?

I'll have to sleep over it!

Alpakka vest

As you've probably noticed I haven't been blogging much lately. It's mostly because I've gone from working 50% to working 100% and that seems to draine me for energy these days. I'm sure this will change now that the weather is so nice and it's not dark anymore. Jippii!

Anyway... Even though I've been working a lot more lately I have still managed to finish a project. It's a vest from Alpakka. It's very comfortable and warm. It's going to be perfect for wearing at the office.

I'm also still working on the baby blanket, but haven't gotten further then finishing 8 squares out of 20... Maybe that comes from it not being my first priority, but rather something I can take out between bigger project or reading a book. It just feels nice to work on a project that I can "finish" in just a few hours.

I've got many projects I would love to start on. But first I'll need to find some time, energy and non the least money for doing so.

Once upon a time...

... there lived a dragon in the deep green forest... And one beautiful afternoon he was cited in the woods hunting for frogs. He didn't seem too happy about being discovered and quickly disappeared into the depth of the forest again...

I've finally got my PC back so now I can blog again, which is wonderful!!! I feel like I've missed out on a lot by not having access to my blog or the different forums on the Internet. Not being able to check out what everybody else has been up to... and so on. But now that my PC is up and running I feel like I can take over the world again! Mohahahaaa! Just kidding

I must admit that even though I haven't been blogging too much during the last 3 weeks I haven't done too much handicraft either...

I did sew a carnival costume for my son. I finished it at 1045 pm the night before the carnival! You may say that there were many late nights before the carnival as I first fell ill. Then travelled to Fashion week in Copenhagen with my job. When I finally got home again I had from Monday to Thursday evening to cut and sew... I can tell you now that there wasn't one free moment between waking up, working and sewing, but it was absolutely worth it after seeing my sons face...

I also finished the February hat with my own little twist, but that is also about it. I suppose I'll pick up the knitting needles at latest in Easter as I'm going to have a lot of free time on my hands.

A birthday present to my dear friend

I was inspired to knit this scarf after visiting BenteB's blog.

To be quite honest I didn't think much of this scarf when I first saw it on the cover of pt Design nr.75, but after seeing on BenteB's blog I decided I had to knit it!

I decided to knit it for my dear friend Sharon who seems to lack most winter garments. She wasn't meant to receive it before her birthday which is on the 16th of February, but after seeing her with a naked neck again I decided that she could get it already today. Especially since it's meant to get quite so cold here in Oslo. The rumors say it might get as cold as -15 to -20 C!!! That is cold! I didn't mind the mild weather that we've had until now.

A "sleepingbag" for a baby girl

I have a friend who is expecting a baby girl any day now. So, after going through loads of magazines I decided to make this sleepingbag ->

I found the pattern in a magazine called "Kreative Kvinner" and it's possible to use both sides as an outside and inside. It was quick to make. I used about a day on it.

All I can do now is to wait by the phone for the good news!

I haven't been blogging much latelty...

I've been attending a course over the last few weeks and since there was a lot of theory and listening involved I started to bring along my knitting.
To be more exact I brought along the baby blanket that I am knitting. It's easy to bring along since you knit it in sections and the pattern i easy to memories after a few squares. Which I've knitted 6 of until this point, but I still need another 14...
Anyway. There was this African guy, Kebba who suddenly noticed me with my knitting and asked me if I could knit him some wrist warmers since he hated mittens because he didn't like his fingers being covered up. He even knew the colours he wanted because they were from an African flag. So I said that I would do it!
After a few hours behind my computer, testing out different patterns, I decided to go for the one that you can see in the picture. It took me about 2 evenings to complete them as the first one I knitted turned out a bit too big :(
He was very happy with the result and as you can see they fit perfectly! He even started to mumble about wanting a pair of socks as well. Had to say no for now though. I've simply got too many projects to finish before I can take another order from anybody :o)

A lovely pullover knitted in Alpakka from Drops

I have finally managed to take a picture of my pullover that has been done since before Christmas.

I'm very happy with the way it turned out since I haven't knitted many garments in size "grown-up" before.

I've knitted it longer than what the pattern suggests because I freeze easily and just needed it to keep my bum warm. I've also did a drastic colour change to the pattern since I wanted something brighter. I know, I know. It turned out to look like something from the eighties, but I quite fancy it that way :oD

This time I knitted a hat from Dalegarn Konfekt.

I didn't like knitting with the yarn suggested in the pattern too much, so I don't think that I'll be using it again in the near future.

Otherwise I think that the hat turned out nice and that it's very "me" :o)

January hat and a Scater hat

I've finally managed to take a picture of my January hat which has been done for several days already. I used Kitten Mohair and some pearls I found at home. I knitted the smallest version on knitting pins 3,5. You can find the pattern for the Black Sea Hat here.

I've also knit a hat for my SO so that he doesn't freeze while working out in the cold.

January socks

...and then it was year 2007 and a new sock along has been started. Unfortunately by the time I found out about it they had already filled up the along, but I was determined not to let that stop me! So yesterday I knitted the January socks and they are absolutely wonderful!
